Hi to all!
Im new here and wanted to Announce my Game Maker 8 Engine!
The name of the Engine is : The COUNTRY Engine
It will be a easy to use Engine that allows you to make your own DKC Sequels.
Right now,i dont have any screens uploaded yet,i will do that later, but here are a few informations about the engine:

FEATURES:
- Many Items and Enemys from the good old DKC games and new ones (maybe stuff from DKCR)
- A Playable DK with Walking, jumping, running, ducking,Rolling (Attack) and throwing Objects! Yet other moves needs to be done...
- Fully working Hud System that is just like the original game ! (Displays bananas if you collect them and then fades out if you dont collect any more.)
- A Flawless working Movement code!
- Many more! This will be updated later..

Now i have just a few questions to you guys...
Do any of you know maybe the original speed when walking/Running and the original DK Jump height if jumping?
Do any of you would be able to make animated gifs (or strips) for game maker to use,due DK and the others has a really large amount of Frames, which will make my job even harder...I used the DKCR Exported sprites before but the image width and height is way to much to be honest.

Simion to the rescue! Excellent notes — they ought to be of significant help. :)

Sounds like a good project, DTM; I look forward to seeing it progress.

I'm very curious to have a look, but none of those screenshots are showing up — all I see is the following:

I could see them just fine.

EDIT: de belongs to Germany. I wonder if each country has a hotlink prohibition to certain other countries. Could there be a hotlink filter for yours in Australia?

VideoViking, I think you were right; I viewed the post using a German proxy service, and they all show up just fine.

I've edited them into DTM's post as forum attachments. :geek:

DonkeyTheMonkey, it's not a big deal, but the images you posted are bigger (both in pixel dimensions and file size) than they need to be; I would recommend you use the [2x] tag (instead of [img] tags) in the future, which doubles the height of a SNES screenshot (or any image of 224 pixels in height) to 448px tall; the image's width is now expanded to keep the original image's ratio in check (new adjustment). It's not exactly like what you've done here (a bit smaller, smooth pixel blending, image border), but it's more efficient data-wise, and is therefore kinder to users with slow connections, download limits, etc... and smaller screen sizes, of course. ;)
